I can't give a full review here yet since I'm reviewing this one for The Historical Novel Society, but I will say this much...mark your wishlists for The Virgin's Daughters by Jeane Westin, which comes out in August. Tudor fiction at its best!

I was interested to read on Sarah Johnson's blog that a THIRD of all the historical fiction autumn titles she had reviewed had 'Daughter' somewhere in the title. That rather horrified me. Add to a headless woman cover and they all become much of a muchness even if the content within varies tremendously. I'm glad this is a good one and that you enjoyed it.
Whoops the above should read 'received for review' Blame it on being near to bed-time.
I'll just let you tell me when the time comes. You should see my calendar . . . it's scary.
And this wasn't even counted among them, EC, as I had this down as a summer (rather than fall) title! It was 1/3 of all the HF titles I'd found cover images for at the time I did my preview. Quite a lot, at any rate. The "daughter" part of this title seems rather a stretch, but I'm also glad to hear it's a good one.
